Open an Account

As a not-for-profit credit union, Metropolitan Services Credit Union is not open to the public. Our field of membership includes current and retired employees of Metropolitan Council Wastewater employees and their families, including spouses, children, parents, grandparents, siblings, cousins, nieces, nephews and adoptive relatives. If you are related to a current Member by blood, adoption or marriage, you are eligible to join regardless of where you live.
If you qualify for membership and want to apply for a loan, you can skip the Membership application and use our Online Loan Application instead.
The first step to joining MSCU is opening a Share Savings Account. We will need a $5.00 deposit. This deposit represents your share in the Credit Union and provides you with the privilege of voting for your Board of Directors, Committees and to participate in the variety of services available.

How to Open an Account at Metropolitan Services Credit Union

If you meet the membership criteria to join MSCU, please review our Membership and Account Agreement and then return the following items to us for processing:

  • A completed Membership Application*
  • A photocopy of your drivers’ license or photo identification
  • Cash deposit or a check payable to Metropolitan Services Credit Union.

At this time we do not accept Membership Applications online. Please bring the items listed above to our office or mail it to us at: MSCU, 475 Etna Street, Suite 10, St. Paul, MN 55106.

* Our Membership Application is a fillable PDF. For security purposes we recommend you download the PDF then double-click on the file to open and complete it. You can then print the completed document and return it to us.

Once a member, ALWAYS a member! As long as you maintain an account and remain an active member you are welcome to belong to MSCU for life, even if you change jobs, move or retire.
To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who opens an account.

What this means for you: When you open an account we will ask for your name, address, date of birth. And other information that will allow us to identify you. We may ask to see your driver’s license or other identifying documents.
